HUGE combined churches campaign in Shellharbour, NSW!!

Unity
From Shane Cook, Lead Pastor Shellharbour City Community Church

"It is exciting what is happening in the churches through our city with E100!!! We have combined together with many denominations on board to create a HUGE Bible reading push in the Shellharbour region. The local radio station is providing advertising and we will be getting editorials from the 3 local newspapers.

There is a great sense that God is going to use the E100 as a launch pad for something great in His church in Shellharbour. And what an incredible thing to bring us together! Gods word!! We will all gather for a launch on the 20th March and we have agreed that we will be doing the journey together over 20 weeks starting April 23rd running over 2 terms.

Each week on the radio station a local pastor will be talking about what God has been speaking to them about over the weeks reading. We have all agreed that we will be having a combined celebration at the end. We'll keep sharing testimonies as they come through but for now, we're excited about the journey and hope other regions do the same!!"

One of Sydney's biggest AOG church launches E100

Picture_25
The Baptist's and Anglican's have been the biggest takers of the E100 Challenge so far, but now a steady stream of charistmatic churches are getting on board.

Last Sunday morning, one of Sydney's biggest AOG church, Shirelive Church in Sydney's south, launched E100 with hundred's of people commiting to reading the scriptures in a community challenge. Pastor Mike Murphy and dozens of others have been tweeting their experience and you can see their comments at #E100

E100 starting with a BANG in 2012..!

Shirelive, Sutherland, NSW. Anglican Parish, Waterloo Bay, QLD. St Stevens Anglican, Penguin TAS. Bathurst CLC, NSW. Campbelltown Presbyterian NSW. C3 Church, Jervis Bay NSW. St Martins Lutheran Church, SA. Fellowship Baptist, NSW. Miranda Congregational Church, NSW.

Just to name a few!

These are just some of the churches who have signed up to take the E100 Challenge as part of their New Year plans. Why?

Pastor Mike from Engadine, NSW says, "We are keen to see everyone in our congregation engage with God's word in a meaningful, deep, relational way. We want to experience God's Word in community so E100 seems like the best thing for us now."

At Scripture Union, we're hoping that 2012 will be the year when churches right across Australia take Bible Reading seriously by taking the E100 Challenge to their people. Here's what we've done recently to help:

  - Cut the E100 Church Rego pack to just $25

  - Met with pastors and leaders in major regions to taylor-make E100 to suit their context

  - Started developing the Australian follow up tool, Essential Jesus

  - Updated the E100 iPhone App

We're passionate about the Scriptures and we hope you'll consider E100 in 2012!

I took on the E100 Challenge and others started following

Picture_1
Tamara Duff is a leader without even realising it. She doesn't need a title or position - she simply took on the E100 Challenge personally and others started to follow.

"I admittedly ordered the E100 material personally, but was hearing huge interest in it from a variety of people [at our church], so I just ordered in bulk. I thought I'd order some E100 resources and so far:
·         A couple of home groups at church have an interest in taking on the study
·         I’ve been going through it myself one on one with a friend of mine (who is a new mum, and has struggled to read regularly)
·         After mentioning it at church, a mum wanting to encourage their teenagers to read the bible asked for a few copies, and another couple of other ladies were keen..."

What better way to use your influence than to help people engage with God's word!?! Perhaps you too want to share your E100 Challenge story...? Share it on facebook by friending E100 Challenge Australia or simply email dan@e100challenge.com.au

E100 Testimony: Wyoming Church of Christ

Growth_group
Ross Hamoni is taking the E100 Challenge with the Wyoming Church of Christ. They are into their 12th week and are still loving it...

"We have one young adults group of about 8, one youth connect group of about 12, as well as a ladies group of about 10 all doing (and loving) the e100 challenge. Our Pastor is also following the sermon guide (he just chooses one of the 5 each week) so the whole congregation is involved. We are up to Week 12..."

Do you want to get people in your church engaged with the Scriptures? Take on the E100 Challenge, just like the Wyoming Church of Christ...

E100 Testimony: Emmaus Christian School

Picture_3
Dan Ford is the Chaplain at Emmaus Christian School in Canberra. A few weeks ago, he invited students in Years 7-10 to take part in the E100 Challenge.

"I thought this would be a good way to encourage their Bible reading and give them a solid understanding of God’s word. So far the response has been excellent with around 30 students taking up the challenge. I have given each of them a personal Reading Planner to help their progress and I'm hoping the E100 Challenge will generate some great discussion."

More to come from Dan Ford as they go through - but wouldn't it be great if a few people wrote comments of encouragement here for Dan and his teens?!!
